Gold Rush is a programme of Olympic and Paralympic sporting taster?sessions which will be delivered by Fareham Borough Council?s Play?Ranger Service and local sports clubs in the Borough. The activities?will take place during the February half-term. There will also be?arts and crafts available at some of the sites. These?sessions are available to young people from across?the Borough ? all ages and abilities are ?welcome?to attend and take part. Young people 8 years?and under must be accompanied at all times by a parent/ guardian. Please see over for?more details of the?Gold Rush.
The sessions will take place in both morning?(10am ? 12 noon) and afternoon?(1.30 ? 3.30pm) during the?week, and will include a?range of ?sports such as?boxing, football, tennis,?badminton, shooting,?swimming and many?more?!
The week?s events will conclude with a special?competition held on the Saturday (18 February)?at Cams Alders Recreation Ground from ?10am ??1.30pm, where anyone who has attended an Olympic?sporting taster session(s) during the week can enter!?They will need to participate in a number of different?sports and then complete a competition entry form?to be in with a chance of winning a prize. Fareham?Borough Council?s Play Rangers will also be offering?a range of craft opportunities to make flags,?bunting and medals. The competition entry?form will be available on the day of the?event or can be downloaded?at www.fareham.gov.uk/fareham2012
